down in times square, its a heart attack. all the feeling makes you feel so new.

I took a deep, lengthy breath allowing my nostrils to expand to persuade in the glorious scents of summer combed with those accompanying being in the heart of the city.  The aromatic medley of flavors pouring out of nearby restaurants, the reek of rotting refuse, and the stench of exhaust fuel mingled amicably with that sweet candied fragrance of summer air.  This is my refreshing.  I paused at a street corner while aimlessly wandering to find myself joined by hoards of enthused tourists from all walks of life, desperate street musicians, and eager purveyors of bus tours and comedy clubs.  The zestful energy entered and settled deep into every pore of my skin.  Every sensation was welcomed with pleasure and I just soaked it in.  I wasn't with a friend, I wasn't passing through, I was there just to be there.  Exhilaration coursed through my veins with every step of my unorthodox trip.  Once more, I inhaled and let the euphoric New York City air circulate through me as I squinted up at the familiar cascading lights of billboards and the sweltering sun.  I exhaled, marveled and still in awe of it all.

the story of my name [by andy]

hi, i'm suckdeep.  my life sucks deeply.  and i blame it on my name.

when i was at the tender age of four, two white girls threw rocks at me because of my name.
white girl 1: what's your name?
suckdeep: ... its suck deep.  suck deep rat whore.
white girl 2 throws a rock at suckdeep's face.
suckdeep: sticks and stones may break my bones and disfigure my face, but words will never hurt me.

this situation was only the beginning of an onslaught of immature jokes regarding my name in years to come.  all of elementary school and middle school, i endured it.  whenever my teacher paused with a quizzical look during role call (as if she is trying to read Elvish/Tengwar inscriptions), i would tense up and sweat profusely.  "suck.. deep?"  suck deep rat hobag?  whore?"  my face burned in shame as i raised my hand.  "present."  all of the other kids looked at me as if i'm some kind of alien with a ridiculous name like "man-ho" or "hump-me" or "grab-and-pull-my-penis."  i'm human and my name is "suckdeep."  whats the big deal?

suckdeep is the name that was given to me.  and no matter how many people point and laugh at me, or throw rocks at me, or slap a "punch me in the jugular" post-it on my back, i'm still going to be proud of my name.  i will always be a suckdeep rat whore.  like i said when i was four: "sticks and stones may break my bones or disfigure my face, but words can never hurt me."

and then i met hardik.  what a ridiculous name!  did he realize that hardik rhymes with "hard dick?"  my entitlement to immature fun led to me making his life a living hell.  hardik.  lollers.

anyway, i am going to go think of hackneyed insults involving hardik's name and its striking resemblance to "hard dick."

if you can't dance to this, it doesn't matter

i took off my plastic keyboard cover.  it feels interesting, in a good way.  almost like typing is this whole new exhilarating experience i've never quite experienced before.  alright or maybe its just like riding a bike without training wheels actually.  i just got home.  ever been on your way home from somewhere with your family late at night in a silent car?  you're exhausted and can't wait till you make it home so you can finally sink into your bed, but you never make it to your house.  you fall in and out of sleep, angered when you look around to see unfamiliar sites.  then eventually, you find that ever so snug position, almost soundly asleep and your eyes flutter open to find the car turning onto your street.  noooooooooooo!   but i was just getting comfortable!  the last thing i want is to move.  oh well, quick quick, i'll just get in the house and go straight to bed.  but by the time you've changed into pajamas and brushed your teeth, you're wide awake again.  fuck.  you know what i mean?

tonight i discovered a way to tune out my dad, quite literally.  i hide my earbuds under my hair and when he yells i blast the volume so instead of crying i'm amused by this animated yelling man.  not hearing the horribly unreasonable shit he's saying really helps.   anyway, the wedding reception i went to this evening was very "cute" and "fancy".  the groom has three degrees from MIT and the bride is going to be a doctor AND they're good looking "cute", and there was a woman in the bathroom to hand me a towel after i washed my hands "fancy."  what more can you ask for really?  it was classic punjabi style with loud music, crazy dancing and everyone getting drunker by the hour.  thank god supreet came.  i enjoyed making overly critical, sarcastic comments about everything with her.  what can i say, large indian crowds just bring out that side of me.  my bangles are jingling while i type and i can't decide if it delights or annoys me.  the fuckers kept getting caught in everything all night.  but they're so darned appealing in a whimsical way.  to my joyous surprise, sushi was one of  the appetizers.  i have to hit the gym hard tomorrow.  they had chili paneer.. not just paneer, my favorite indian food, but chili aka spicyyyy. oh yea, that's nice.  during dinner, i said, "i hope there's a bunch of different desserts."  well the sugar plum candy cake happiness dessert fairy must have heard my wishes because there were cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, fruit cakes, ice cream, eclairs, chocolate covered strawberries, cannolis, raas malai, AND MORE i can't even name or remember if i tried.  i could describe these desserts to you, but then you would just want some and i'd probably read this later then stick a piece of cake in my mouth, so lets save ourselves the calories and move on.  i was up for being tipsy tonight, but didn't feel like actually drinking alcohizal.  the customary champagne they always have out on the table, while it looked cute with raspberries in it and all, was terrible.  however.  they had malibu.  i'm sure i embarrassed myself here and there, but i think everyone else was too drunk to even notice.  my uncle was so gone.  my dad called my cousin to tell him to drive in his place, but he wasn't so sober himself.  i hope they got home alright.  i have to decide tomorrow if i want to see all these folks again sunday.  my initial reaction is no.  but supreet might go, she asked me to come, and i don't see enough of that girl.  frizends since birth yo.  the "function" sunday is for this dude who's getting married.. AGAIN!  he divorced his first wife.. i didn't know indian people were allowed to do that, HA.  i remember his first wedding.. i was in the seventh grade.  it was a fun party, too bad the marriage didn't last.  i want a chocolate fondue fountain at my wedding reception, a huge one.  i'm going to go upload pictures while i listen to the wicker park soundtrack.  toodles : *

cute is what we aim for

There's an indescribable something charming about miniature objects.  I had trouble abandoning the dainty little mini cupcakes i just baked to cool in the kitchen.  The teeny-weeny, itsy-bitsy cakes possess the enchanting ability to effortlessly inspire me to smile.  I've always been enthralled with "mini."  Its kind of like, this is supposed to be bigger.. but its not.  I've recieved pocket sized scrabble, petite snow globes, and more as gifts.  This elementary irony is the one way ticket to my delight and amusement ^_^.
