carry me in

i was ready for an ice cold ocean, but as that first wave collapsed onto the shore, it's foam was warm and welcoming at my feet.  the beach is so crowded during the day, i forgot what it was like to stand in the water with no sight between you and the horizon but water and sky, no sounds but waves and wind.  it makes me feel like i'm at the edge of the world.. just me, alone as the sand rushes away beneath my feet.
